The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course is composed for seven modules that have been designed by experienced fundraising professionals to meet the real-world needs and challenges nonprofit organizations face every day. This 16-hour program includes case studies and projects for groups and individuals, making the learning experience both substantive and enjoyable. The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course offers a complete overview of the development function, featuring the most current information and techniques. This intensive program will provide an overview of skills, techniques and program components for individuals with 0 to 4 years of fundraising experience. 

Each of the following modules will be led by a seasoned fundraising professional. There will be seven speakers, one for each of the modules below. More information about our speakers coming soon!

Module 6: Volunteers/Partners in Fundraising - Sandra Dolese, CFRE, CSPG
Module 7: Management & Accountability - Dr. Angela Beard

The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course is presented through lecture, case studies, and the encouragement of participant dialogue. Each participant will receive a printed manual on the first day of the course.


Target Audience

This course is designed for fundraisers who are new to the profession or who have 0 to 4 of experience, including executive directors, program managers, special event coordinators, leadership volunteers and others. 



Participants who complete this course will earn an AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Certificate plus 16 points of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credits in Category 1.B - Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
