Program Summary

With all the time management tools and apps available, how does a fundraiser figure out what to use? It’s overwhelming – who has time for time management?

Mike Ritter, Director of Development at Pasado’s Safe Haven, and Kate McMullen, Major Gifts Officer at Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Hawaiian Islands, have made the time for you. In this brown bag lunch session, you will hear how they are successfully using their databases and time management apps better manage their own time which in turn helps to elevate their fundraising.

You will learn strategies to keep yourself organized, how to help your staff and volunteers manage their time and portfolios, and get tips for setting up new systems!

Three Learning Objectives:

  1. How to utilize your database tools to plan and track donor activities;
  2. Learn about systems to help automate customized donor communications; and
  3. How to develop plans with actionable steps for colleagues, leadership & board members.

Mike Ritter is the Development Director at Pasado's Safe Haven, an organization working to end animal cruelty. Mike has over a decade of nonprofit fundraising experience in a diverse set of organizations from environmental protection to youth services. The common thread in all of his work is building deep relationships and connecting people to the organization’s mission. Mike's passion for data, tracking, and technology stems from his work on political campaigns in Wisconsin, Virginia, and Montana. At Pasado's Safe Haven, he has implemented a sophisticated action tracking and planning for their major and mid-level donors.

In a few months, Kate McMullen will celebrate three years as a Donor Relations Officer with Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands. Previously, she led fund development strategies for the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance, the state’s largest housing & homelessness advocacy organization, and the Denise Louie Education Center, a multicultural early learning and family support services provider. Kate has worked with pretty much every donor database (EBase, anyone?), but is most happy sitting down with supporters over a vanilla latte to share how their philanthropy is changing lives.
