They provide strategic leadership, forge connections to personal and professional networks and offer their unending generosity to organizations and causes that push the boundaries of inclusion. Those are just a few examples of why Angie and Cynthia are so deserving of our 2016 Outstanding Philanthropists award.

"Angie and Cynthia bring their entire selves to the diverse causes that they are committed to and compassionate about – their passion, energy, willingness to help, and their resources," Pride Foundation Kris Hermanns wrote when nominating them for the award. "Whether you need something big or small, for them to be out front or behind the scenes, formally or informally, just an introduction or a financial contribution, they are always graciously willing to do anything asked of them."

Reading through the recently released Statewide Capacity Collaborative's Washington State Leadership Scan got me thinking about an important question we all need to pause and ask ourselves: How do you like to learn as a leader?
